ADC Sunday Sermon – August 4th, 2019:

Asbury-Dunwell Church is a Christian congregation, which confesses the Lord Jesus as God and Saviour in accordance with the scriptures. Members shall be united in Christ as a worshipping, teaching, witnessing and servicing community. Members shall endeavour to work together to the Glory of God, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

The purpose of the Church shall be to glorify God primarily through the building up of the Body of Christ in worship, teaching and discipleship, and through the proper development of the gifts of the congregation resulting in ministry to others.

The Church shall seek to keep the Great Commandments (Mark 12: 30 31) and to carry out the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19 20).

THE CHILDREN’S MINISTRY

shall be responsible for the organization of Sunday School during church service and all other social activities for children under 13 years of age based on Christian Education.

THE WORSHIP MINISTRY

responsible for the following;

i. Organizing the musical aspects of worship
ii. Leading the Church during worship;
iii. Coordinating the order of service to ensure that worship proceeds in an orderly, timely, biblical and spirit-filled manner

THE EVANGELISM MINISTRY

shall be responsible for the mobilization and equipping of the Church to fulfill The Great Commission, spreading knowledge on the finished work of Jesus Christ on the Cross, redeeming mankind from sin.

THE DISCIPLESHIP MINISTRY

shall be responsible for supporting the growth of Members as disciples of our Lord, Jesus Christ though Home Care groups and other relevant activities of the church.
• A Home Care Group is a small group in home areas of members who meet to study the Word of God, pray and support each other.

THE MINISTRY OF HELPS

shall be responsible for the administration of helpful assistance to members of the congregation, including matters concerning their welfare such as in times of bereavement, illness and the like. They shall also coordinate all activities relating to giving, counseling and welfare.

And God has appointed in the church, first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, administrations, various kinds of tongues. 1 Corinthians 12:28

For just as we have many members in one body and all the members do not have the same function, so we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another. Romans 12:4-5
